Japan strongly disputes accusations of responsibility for the hijacking of the Kyushu Beetle Ferry. Neither Japan nor any Japanese affiliates are responsible for this disturbing incident which has impacted Japanese and South Korean nationals. We condemn the use of disinformation in the wake of this tragedy. We are working with the Republic of Korea to secure the immediate return of our citizens and are grateful for their continued collaboration.
A phishing attack was conducted on Japanese officials. One source described the event as "devastating" and "frustrating." Another official, who requested to remain anonymous said, "I opened my inbox this morning and found a fishy email. I reported it as soon as I saw it."
The source of the attack is unknown.
In recognition of the late honorable Turkish FM's long-time championing of environmental preservation amid climate change, the Beijing Zoo has agreed to loan one of its prized pandas, Ping Ping An An to the Istanbul Zoo to mark further cooperation in environmental and zoological endeavors between the People's Republic of China and Turkiye.
