In an exclusive interview on CNN, Alexandre Mansourov - who is a serving Founding Member of the US National Committee on North Korea and Senior Associate of the Nautilus Institute - delved into the recent military activities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), unveiling a shocking revelation. Contrary to initial perceptions, Mansourov asserted that the DPRK's military maneuvers were not merely routine exercises but part of a calculated purge operation. He disclosed that these exercises were aimed at uprooting an emerging extremist faction within the DPRK government, advocating for a radical shift towards greater self-reliance and aggressive foreign policy.

Moreover, Mansourov made a startling connection between two seemingly unrelated incidents – the detention of North Koreans off the coast of Japan and the hijacking of the ferry. According to Mansourov, both incidents were orchestrated by the same extremist faction, operating clandestinely to further their agenda.
