France Cyberattack: Eiffel Tower Ticketing Services Hit by DDOS Attack

Several French Eiffel Tower websites have been ridden with a Distributed Denial-of-Services (DDOS) cyberattacks. Relatively innocuous but still important services such as ticket vending for entry and tours were made unavailable, much to the anger of tourists. Overworked staff were forced to resort to manual ticketing services. The denial-of-services lasted for upwards of five hours for some websites before French officials were able to return services.

This has annoyed some winter break tourists but otherwise has not caused any significant damage.
