French Communiqué

The French Government is deeply concerned by the developments in Lesvos, a sovereign territory of Greece. As we prioritize the safety and stability of our nation, we reiterate both our obligations under the Articles of the Franco-Greek Defense Agreement and NATO Article 5. France calls on Greece and Turkey to engage in diplomatic talks to prioritize the maintenance of peace on the European continent, ensuring France's interests remain at the forefront of our efforts.
