German Gas Companies Shut Down in Cyber Attack

A group of hackers launch a sophisticated cyberattack against Germany's LNG terminals, leaving Nordstream as one of the only important remaining gas provider.

The attackers use advanced malware to gain access to the terminals' control systems, allowing them to manipulate operations. Germany's LNG terminals experience significant downtime and operational disruptions, leading to a temporary shortage of natural gas supply in the country. This disruption not only impacts Germany's energy security but also raises concerns among European countries that rely on German LNG imports. Industries reliant on German imports will similarly shutdown.
