BREAKING/UPDATE: Passenger Ferry Hijacked

December 28, 2027 - A Kyushu Beetle Ferry traveling from Busan to Fukuoka has reportedly been hijacked. An SOS signal was sent out around noon but neither South Korean nor Japanese authorities have heard from the ferry since. The GPS data on the ship has been shut down, however, South Korean authorities and media are visually tracking the ship, showing it still within South Korean waters.

According to the passenger list, there are 200 passengers of mostly Japanese and a few South Koreans. Videos posted on social media by passengers depict the hijackers in dark outfits waving pistols and shouting demands in Japanese and Korean. One video shows men putting blindfolds on passengers. Cries of panic and pain can be heard within the video.

According to rumors within the Ministry of Defense, Japan and South Korea are rumored to discuss the situation.
